South Korea’s foreign ministry issued a travel
alert for all parts of Hong Kong as of Monday. Amid protest continuing in all parts of the
city state and physical conflicts between police and protesters escalating by the day,
the Seoul’s government issued the first level travel alert, or Blue level. The alert calls on all South Korean nationals
staying in Hong Kong or planning to travel to the region to pay extra attention to personal
safety. The ministry added that it will keep a close
eye on security situations and protest development in Hong Kong and decide whether to lift or
issue additional alerts.
