Metal Detecting Clearwater Beach w/Relic Recoverist

Metal Detecting Clearwater Beach w/Relic Recoverist

Posted on November 30, 2019 by Merlin Dickens

alright hey guys she detector here soo
today we’re gonna be doing some metal detecting at Clearwater Beach with relic
recoverist she is actually already geared up and
ready to go and she is waiting on me so I’m gonna get geared up and we’re gonna
hit the water let’s get to doing some metal detecting first coin of the day 1968 penny yeah
it’s like what were they made out of back then do you know this is not
corroded you’ve been a little bit awesome 1968 shiver me timbers all right guys first quarter of the day
1988 wasn’t very deep only about two inches down all right guys so getting
target in the 70s here between four and six inches it’s kind of jumpy so I don’t
think it’s a coin I got it that sounds like a coin yep penny 2018 so I was wrong the jumpy
signal was a coin all right guys so I just had a 50/51 one signal here and I
wasn’t gonna dig it cuz I was pretty sure it was foil so I was kicking it
with my foot look it right there turns out it was not foil it was a nickel yeah 1999
nickel just goes to show you dig everything you alright hey guys she detect her here so
tonight we’re gonna be doing a some metal detecting on Clearwater Beach and
it’s obviously night time this will be my first nighttime hunt and it is a new
moon tonight so unfortunately we’re not gonna have any help from the moon as far
as visibility goes I don’t know how it’s gonna work out but I’m gonna try and see
if we can see anything in the dark I am out here today with the Garrett 80 max I
have my waterproof headphones I’ve got my t-rex coop so hopefully we can find
some goodies I’m gonna get geared up and we can get to do in some metal detecting
alright guys so I’m gonna turn it in the 80s here not very deep at all so I’ll
use the pinpointer there we go so sometime so you guys probably can’t see it in the
camera but I’m working a line right here that has there’s holes straight in front
of me what’s every I don’t know maybe five or six feet this is actually where
they set up the beach chairs and the umbrellas for people to rent during the
day so I’m just gonna walk straight across it and see what I find guys I’ve
got some 80s signals here not very deep so that means they’re coin drops I found it so it’s a dime see if that’s
it okay so I got some 80 and 80s target
here now I see it it’s a coin it’s a dime right there alright guys I got a
solid 72 73 right here this is reading about 4 inches down so I’ll go ahead and
take a scoop I might have gotten it but it might still be near the hole it is a penny aim looks like pretty sure
it’s a penny or a dime I don’t know I was a little farther down than normal
for fresh drops anyway so it might not be fresh all right guys I got pretty
solid 8687 right here it’s the surface oh there it is that’s a quarter 1978 actually another coin here somewhere so
we got a little coin spill there it is looks like another quarter yep it’s a quarter I don’t know where
the Dean is 2006 for you alright let’s check it again maybe
there’s more nope that’s it two corners very nice okay so we’ve got some more
80s signals here there actually might be too clearness so we got a dime there all
right guys this is solid 83 84 Corner okay who’s that alright guys so I’ve got
a pretty solid 54 right here not have very many targets in the 50s Gombu okay
so I’ve got solid 48 47 this year finder it was about six inches down take one
more scoop not sure if I got it or not Sabu it’s a caprese well this one was a
kool-aid but boo nonetheless guys so I’m like well it’s probably gonna be a
bottle cap cuz it’s jumping around it sounds good
but it’s jumping around a bit well it’s jumping around yeah now it’s
grunt ohh it’s gonna be a bottle cap I am oh it’s mean so it could be like from
somebody’s hair somebody stone suit that’s cool I thought for sure it’s
gonna be a bottle cap alright guys so here my finds for my hunt at Clearwater
Beach during the day so I found a bunch of aluminum wrappers and foil and stuff
I I bought this chapstick so I picked it up found this little aluminum grommet of
some kind I did dig two pieces of iron found two bottle caps a bunch of pull
tabs I I bawled this little hair bow here it was in the water so I picked it
up so I did find these two rounds here they are not spent but they are both 38
specials which I thought was kind of interesting because they were on the
beach near a tree and I was like okay either somebody was there going to
commit murder or going to commit suicide either way not good so and then I found
a couple of pieces I think these are pieces of jewelry here I’m not sure I’ll
go ahead and get a close-up picture of them for you guys and y’all can let me
know what you think if it’s jewelry a garbage or I don’t know what and then I did find two little pendants
here they were near the trees also they’re both bling not even
silver-plated you
and then I found this little I don’t even know what it is but it says he ll
on it and I thought that was kind of cool at first I thought it might have
been a medical bracelet but it doesn’t say anything medical on it so I don’t
think it is and then all of these here are little
bits of jewelry of some kind and actually I believe these three here I
actually found where I found this one so they could be from the same piece of
jewelry and it’s just something that broke this is a little bead and this is
also a little bead and then here are all my coins so I found four quarters a dime
to you nickels and nine penny now I did want to mention that this particular
penny here is 1968 and I found it in the water and it is not corroded at all it
looks to be in really really good shape which makes me think it’s a copper penny
now I haven’t researched to see when they stopped making copper pennies so
I’m not sure but I feel like it’s probably a copper penny so I found a
dollar 29 and change which is good I’ve not had a coin day as heavy as this day
was so these are all my finds for my day hunt at Clearwater Beach so these are
all my finds for my night hunt at Clearwater Beach so luckily I did not
find any garbage during the night hunt it was all coins so I’ve got three
quarters five dimes a nickel and 13 pennies so I found a dollar and 43 cents
in change during my night hunt at Clearwater Beach all right guys so
that’s it for my hunt at Clearwater Beach with relic recoveries it was a
great day so we went out there in the morning and we hunted for about three to
four hours right around the time and we quit which i think was around noon or
maybe one o’clock the beach was already slammed with people it was getting
really really hot and obviously Relic recover us and all the Garrett guys are
relic hunters so they’re not really used to being in direct sunlight like you are
at the beach I mean there’s no trees to hide under we didn’t take umbrellas or
anything so the Sun was really really tearing into him so we did about three
or four hours and then we left and then we came back for some night
hunting now that was really really fun that was my first nighttime hunt and one
of you actually sent me a headlamp and it’s hanging up back here and for some
reason I didn’t take it and I knew we were probably going to do a little bit
of hunting after sunset I didn’t think we were gonna hunt as late as we did we
were actually out there till about 10:00 or 10:30 at night and I wish I’d would
have taken my headlamp and would have made it so much easier to see and
especially for the camera to catch when I was digging and all that but I didn’t
but honestly I made it work with my pin pointer so it kind of worked out I think
so hopefully you guys like what you saw in today’s video if you did make sure to
hit it with a thumbs up what did you guys think of those maybe jewelry pieces
I’m really not sure what they are it could be jewelry maybe like a toe ring
that could be jewelry or it could be I don’t know some kind of random just
piece of aluminum maybe I’m not sure so let me know what you guys think go ahead
and click this I up here and let me know if you think it’s jewelry or just some
random metal make sure to check out relic recoveries videos of these hunts

OK…I ENJOY THESE VIDEOS, BUT JUST BECAUSE YOU FOUND TWO STRAY BULLETS NEAR A TREE ON THE BEACH, DOES NOT MEAN SOMEBODY WAS GOING TO COMMIT SUICIDE OR MURDER.
I HAVE PROBABLY DROPPED A BULLET OR TWO IN THE WOODS WHILE HUNTING, AND I CARRY A FIREARM ON MY PERSON EVERY DAY. NOT ONCE HAVE I PLANNED ON COMMITTING SUICIDE OR MURDER!!!
YOUR VIDEOS ARE GOOD ENOUGH WITHOUT THE ADDED HYPE AND SENSATIONALISM.
ALL THAT COMMENT OF YOURS DID WAS FURTHER THE CONVICTION OF THOSE WHO CANNOT FORM A THOUGHT WITHOUT THE AID OF THE NEWS MEDIA, THAT GUN AND GUN OWNERS ARE EVIL.

FL beaches are over detected. Not going to find old relics or coins. Modern coins and Jewelry is what you'll find.

I think the "ELL bracelet" is actually a tag that says "773". Something that might be found on a box, door, drawer, etc.

      Just my thoughts.

Heya, She Detector. The two small items that you think are jewelry look very similar to the ones I find on the beach here. I can't be certain but I've found enough of them to consider the possibility that they are part of the fuselage of a bottle rocket.

I used to live in New Port Richey,Fl I wish I would have done some detecting while there. I would think that Most finds would either be where people forgot their stuff was in a towel or shoe or some other hiding spot and ended up getting dropped, or within the first 10 feet of the surf. I know from experience that when you get rolled under the surf and get kinda beat up and disoriented if you did lose something like jewelry it would be hard to locate for two reasons one is because you wouldn't know exactly where it was separated from you and secondly because with the wave pounding down the sand tends to open up due to stratification and then as the wave backs out the sand closes up. I know you know what I am talking about. I did go to Clearwater Beach once, but usually went to Fred Howard, or Honeymoon Island.

Anything older than 1982. They split the year between copper and zinc. To tell the difference, they have to be weighed out in grains. There are four varieties, large 2 & small 2 of each material-based Penny.

I've hunted that beach for over 40 years. Great beach but don't go out about 100 feet on the left side of the pier. Before a hurricane took it out there was an off shoot and people would throw coins in the water there and make a wish. You couldn't move your coil more than 6 inches without hitting a target.

Maybe someone just lost their speed loader or had ammunition in a pack and went to grab some sun block and dropped the loose rounds. Lots of possibilities besides death.

Just a little advice Nichols foil pull tabs, if you don't dig this then you probably will be missing out on gold the signatures or very close signals that are choppy like the first penny are usually not laying flat but edge up

      Great hunt. Great video.
The more I watch your videos, the more I miss living in the Treasure Island/Madeira beach area.

I remember that beach from when I came to Florida years ago on a vacation with my sister. We stayed in a rental condo near to the beach. Actually the beach was across from where we stayed. Loved the white sands.🇨🇦🌊⛱

When I can't get out there, I come to your YouTube channel and live vicariously through your metal detecting hunts. Thanks for the vids.

RR is bone white like my wife. Hope she did not get burned. So easy to happen in the water with the sun reflecting off the surface — not like I know anything about that 🙁
