Hey Cruisers it’s Sheri from CruiseGear.
Today I’ll tell you our quick story about IT Luggage. IT luggage is marketed as the world’s lightest
upright suitcase brand. When I first heard about these I was really interested simply
because when it comes to luggage, lighter is better right? So I started checking some
of the discount stores like TJ-Max and Ross. I found a couple right away, and I was truly
impressed with the weight. It was amazing, but I really wanted luggage with spinner wheels.
Finally after about a six month search for a bargain, we came across these beauties.
I fell in love with them. They had everything I was looking for – they were light weight,
had spinner wheels, and had a bold, unique color and pattern. Yeah, I wouldn’t miss
THOSE babies on the luggage carousel! And to top it off they were quite reasonable – about
$170 for the whole set. I was so excited; I couldn’t wait until
our next cruise. And I didn’t. I immediately packed one up for a quick trip to visit my
mom. I happily put it in the back of my carpeted SUV, and headed off for my roadtrip. When
I got there I was shocked to see my beautiful bag was already scuffed and scraped. The bag
never left the back of my car. Somehow on the 3 hour drive from my house to my mom’s
the bag got scuffed and damaged. Thinking I must have done something accidentally, I
took extra care when putting the bag in my car for the trip home. When I got home, it
was even worse. More scrapes, more scuffs and it even looked like the fabric around
the piping was worn through. The dream was dead, and my beautiful bags went back to the
store. I really wanted to keep them, but I just couldn’t image how bad the fabric would
look after a few cruises or a trip through an airport. Now it’s back to my rough and
tumble Costco bags. They’re not pretty, or particularly light, but they’re battle
tested and reliable. That’s my sad IT Luggage story. But wait! There’s more! A few months
later we came across this lovely item. Yes! It’s a hard shell IT bag, Complete with eye
catching images of Paris. No scuffed up fabric problems with this baby. The trade off is
of course, the weight. In the end, I guess I’d rather have a durable bag than a light
one. I’m happy now. If you’ve had any experience with IT luggage, please let us know if the

get in gear and get cruising.
