Subway! You can get just anywhere in two seconds! Yeah it’s the best. Toilets everywhere, in all the shops yeah everywhere. There is not enough bins! Good point! Good point! Hey guys this is Cathy Cat and today I will go and actually ask foreigners what they find convenient or inconvenient once they have come to Japan. So let’s find out. What do you think is very convenient about being in Japan or what’s like… Where do you think “Wow, oh my god that’s really convenient?!” Convenience stores are probably really convenient. -The subways -Yeah the subways are really good. -The trains are just really handy, aren’t they?! -Always on time. Convini store! -Convenient convenient stores. -They are very easy to use and every time you need something you can go there. So that’s very useful. -And they are open 24hrs most of the time. -Yeah! -Copy machines and everything there. -Yes! Subway! You can get just everywhere in two seconds. Everything is so close together and there is so much food. Everywhere you go, you always find somewhere to eat. Somewhere to go. All the food is like literally on the go, you can just grab it. So it’s been really easy to just like there is Seven Elevens everywhere so you just go in and grab food that you can take on the go and it’s quite cheap. Rather than just having to go to a restaurant every time you eat. Or go home and cook and stuff like that. So it’s been good. Toilets everywhere, in all the shops yeah everywhere. All the directions, you know when you go on the subway and stuff like that they all like, most of them anyway, translate to English. So that has been really easy for us so yeah. Yeah great travel system. The trains are constant always and it’s quite clear where you are going. I don’t think I would worry anyway if I went the wrong way because it’s super easy to get back on track. Which is awesome. So easy that the metro system is so easy to use. and travel around with. you could go to Trip advisor or whatever places you find. find YouTube channel, just google things and you will find a lot of tips of where to to and it’s so easy to travel from place to place. But I will recommend people going here to try to do something a little bit outside of the normal path. We did… our thing to do outside of the paths was that we rented a car. and tried to drive around and that is an experience. If you dare to do it I would recommend it. We went to Hiroshima and crossed to Kyoto and Osaka and yeah. So I would recommend that. -So definitely renting a car would make it even more easier to access different places in Japan?! Yeah sure and it’s very interesting experience and there is like a culture on the road. You know?! That’s different from back home and you also get the opportunity to visit places that are not so reachable through buses and stuff. So I would recommend that. So what’s actually inconvenient? Have you experienced anything that is not so convenient being here in Japan?! There is not enough bins! Good point! Good point! It’s one of the places that we both said we could move to easily. Not much English sometimes, depending on where. -Sometimes yeah. -Like English menus when you are ordering food. Apart from that it’s pretty convenient, I’d say. When we go to other cities except Tokyo and Osaka that’s not really easy for people who don’t understand Japanese to go there. Last year I came here with some of my friends who don’t speak Japanese. and when we split up for visiting and shopping that was very hard to find a point to meet up after that. The wifi connections are one of the things that are kind of hard. Today we were normally planning on going somewhere else but but the weather was almost kind of rainy so we stopped and thought “Okay let’s do something else” From that point to find out what shall we do today You need wifi or you need something to find a new idea to just conveniently pick up your phone as you normally do at home. -It’s kind of hard. -There should be some kind of hot spots or something. At least on the train stations or metro stations or something. Major stations do have it. Oh, thank you very much! So from the people that we asked today, many people said that the train system is quite amazing. “I LIKE TRAINS!” The Japanese trains are quite good and also the convenient stores. You can grab food wherever you wanna go and they are open for 24hrs. And not so convenient is that you can’t find as much English you can’t find as much English if you go to the countryside or a bit outside of Tokyo. So how about you? What do you find convenient or inconvenient about Japan or Japanese culture. Leave us a message in the box below! Bye! You can now submit subtitles for our videos on Ask Japanese. So if you speak any other language apart from English there is a a little video description how this works.
