The Historic Ketch Falie is celebrating 100 years with a family fun day on Sunday 29th
September. Bring the whole family aboard and experience
the historic ship first hand, for a gold coin donation. Then stick around for the rest of the afternoon
with facepainting, deck games, rope work demonstrations and other nautical attractions. And – when the sun goes down, around 6.30pm
– Illuminart will be lighting up the ship itself with projection art and moving image
storytelling from the Port to Port project, celebrating the ship’s centenary as well
as highlighting Port Adelaide’s rich and unique maritime history. Feel the rhythm and be a part of the Port
Adelaide Twilight Christmas Parade by trying your hand at African Drumming. Starting October 2nd and running for seven
weeks, these free workshops, run by the Ivorian Community Association, will teach you all
you need to know to get your hands and feet moving to the beat, all while making new friends. The workshops will culminate in a performance
at the PAE Twilight Christmas Parade on the 16th November and are open to anyone 12 years
old and over. To book your free spot or for more info, contact
Jane Marr on 8405 6600. Growing for Gold is finally here these School
Holidays, running from 28th of September through until October 13th. Local sporting clubs will be opening their
doors, providing young people aged 3-16 the opportunity to get active and try out a wide
variety of sports, all for free! Basketball, netball, cycling, soccer, swimming
and more, there’s something for everyone to have a go, at Growing for Gold. Check out the full program at growingforgold.com.au. Growing for Gold is brought to you by City
of Port Adelaide Enfield and City of Salisbury. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Well, sort of! It’s a free screening of the Aussie kids
drama Paper Planes, at the Cedar College Oval in Oakden! Presented by CityReach Oakden and the City
of PAE, soak up some community atmosphere on September 28th with fun, pre-show activities
from 5:30, and then settle in and get comfy with the free screening at 6.30pm. There’s free parking on site and it’s
a great way to share a film and a relaxed evening with the PAE community. The grass is growing and the flowers are blooming
– spring is in full swing, in PAE! This week we are mowing verges in Gilles Plains,
Hillcrest, Enfield, Broadview, Ferryden Park, Alberton, Largs North, Largs Bay, Osborne
and Taperoo. And we’ll be spraying weeds in Gepps Cross,
