In Sweden major telecommunication company is  Telia , but for ISD calls there are several competitors, such as Tele2 and Telenordia, which may offer cheaper rates. No extra charge is made for connecting to these other companies.

In order to get a telephone subscription (land line) , foreign students must pay a 3,000 SEK  deposit, unless you have a social security number . The deposit will be  refunded upon departure from Sweden. To get a landline you have to  pay a connection fee of SEK 250 if you are under 26 years of age; otherwise the the fee is 975 SEK. schuhe

Most of the foreign students from Asia and Africa use phone cards, which you can get from local shops. Price and talk time vary from country to country. Net phone is also another option, if you have computer and Internet at home . For mobile phones, there are two major companies Telia and Comviq.
